Personal profile

Ibrahim’s primary research interests encompass a wide range of topics in the fields of critical urban studies, international political economy, securitization theory, identity politics, class struggle, emancipatory politics and grassroots movements. His journey to academia is marked by resilience and determination. He was granted political asylum in the UK in 1999 due to his experiences of oppression and maltreatment in his home country. He channels his personal experiences and dedication to social justice/equality into his research and teaching. His research and teaching reflect his commitment to addressing contemporary societal challenges. Ibrahim is deeply committed to his academic pursuits and promotion of fostering critical thinking with encouragement to engage in stimulating interactions around complex issues.
