Avon sells cosmetic products door to door through almost six million representatives and Amy said it was the skills she learnt on her course which helped her secure the position.

The 22-year-old said: "I have always known I have wanted to study and work in marketing so I think I've already landed my dream job with Avon.

"We had some brilliant modules, like Creative Customer Content and Marketing Planning and Management.

"The lecturers Nikki Phillips, Nicola Thomas and David Gordon led these modules and worked with me to bring out my best for each assessment. The modules were current, engaging and I can already tell they will be extremely useful in my career."

During her time at DMU Amy took full advantage of the placement opportunities on offer, spending a year at Vauxhall Motors Head Office, working in marketing and coming out of it with a distinction and top marks.

Amy said: "From visiting on my very first open day back in 2011, it was clear DMU really encouraged and felt strongly about work placements.

"On that open day, it was David Gordon's talk on placements I attended and coincidentally David was my placement tutor while at Vauxhall and my dissertation tutor in final year.

"His support, guidance and advice throughout these two important years of my degree  was greatly appreciated. His commercial knowledge and experience, combined with his lecturing experience of marketing in context, really helped me."

At the end of her course, Amy graduated with first-class honours and in that same week, was told she had landed a prime job.

She said: "DMU is a fantastic university with tutors willing to support you each step of the way, but also treat you like an adult. The graduation ceremony was absolutely fantastic and a day I will remember and treasure for the rest of my life."
