Economics courses at Â鶹ƵµÀ Leicester (DMU) have secured two top 10 slots in national league tables.
The Times and Sunday Times University Guide 2017 ranked the programme fourth for teaching quality and seventh for student experience out of 75 universities offering similar courses.
This follows on from last year's performance in the guide, which placed Economics in the top five for teaching quality.
More recently, the subject area (including , , and ) has scored highly in areas including student satisfaction in the National Student Survey (NSS) 2016 and the Complete University Guide (CUG) 2017.
Final-year student Ben Barr believes it's the real-world relevance of his Economics course that has led to this strong performance.
He said: "The economic modules are great! They cover such a broad range of issues on a global, European and national scale, but the best part is that the lecturers are able to apply the knowledge you're learning to current affairs that we're witnessing on a daily basis.
"That doesn't just make it easier to understand, but it makes it exciting to see the impact of what you're learning."
Second-year Ryan Clarke agreed: "It's important to look at the real world and I'm glad I made the decision to come to DMU."

Parmjit Kaur, Associate Head of Economics, is delighted with the national recognition, which includes DMU's Business Management and Economics course recording 94 per cent for overall satisfaction in the NSS.
Based on data gathered from hundreds of thousands of final-year students, the Economics programme was also rated in the country's top 10 for teaching, assessment, personal development and overall satisfaction.
Ms Kaur said: "The results reflect the commitment and enthusiasm of the Economics tutors in developing our students' employability skills while nurturing them as independent learners in higher education.
"We have created Economics programmes with an 'applied focus' that are delivered by a dedicated team of Economists and this recognition gives a pleasing verification of our efforts."
Economics is also among four Business and Law courses to have been placed in the top 10 for student satisfaction in the CUG, which ranks 127 universities in the UK.
In the subject tables, Economics is rated third for student satisfaction, with Accounting and Finance fifth, and Business and Management and Marketing both eighth.
