Giving to DMU Global
DMU Global supported trips vary considerably in scope and purpose: some have important impacts on the communities they visit such as the regular audiology trips to Gujarat; others allow PhD researchers to carry out vital data collection; with the United Nations in New York and Geneva a regular destination to allow our students to have direct involvement in work on SDG16.
While destinations vary, what is consistent is that they form foundational memories of time at university for many alumni. For many students that benefit, especially those from lower income backgrounds, they have never had the chance to travel abroad, or have only ever done so in the context of a family trip to see relatives. To travel is expensive, not just in costs but also in missed earning opportunities; and is especially difficult for any student with care responsibilities for family members. Only with help from a DMU Global scholarship will they then get this unique chance at broadening their mind.
