International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women 2021

On Thursday 25 November from 12-1pm, DMU Women will be marking the with an Allies online book club event.

Co-facilitated by Di Turgoose from the School of Applied Social Sciences in the HLS Faculty and James Evans from the Strategic Planning Service, the purpose of the event is to call in allies to end VAWG by discussion of Vera Gray's book, The Right Amount of Panic: How Women Trade Freedom for Safety.

To aid the discussion, we would suggest you ideally read the introduction and first chapter of this book. The e-book is available for loan on the DMU Library Catalogue; if you would like a hard copy, please email eventsoffice@dmu.ac.uk.

International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women 2021 Main

This session is a follow up to the “She was just walking home” Violence Against Women: What do we Need to Challenge and Change? event that was held earlier this year in response to the murder of Sarah Everard.

With the recent murder of Sabina Nessa, this topic is at the forefront of discussions and we feel there is a need to continue our dialogue with regards to this important issue.

To sign up to join the online discussion please email eventsoffice@dmu.ac.uk
